I got into the habit of working out at nights, but rarely do I workout in the morning. Could I still take a protein shake in the morning in addition to the shake I take at night or should I only do so if I exercise in the morning?

1. It takes a full day or two to rebuild your muscles.
2. Your body uses protein when rebuilding your muscles, so it’s good to have a steady supply of protein all the time.
3. Whether you get your protein from Meat, Milk, or a Shake doesn’t make a huge difference.
4. Don’t take too much at once. If you guzzle 100 grams of protein all at once, it’ll just get converted to fat or ‘ejected’ from your system.
5. Getting protein more often is good, just watch your total calories
Hey ddchav, Its very important that you workout a few times a week. Don’t go nuts with the protein shakes here’s a post I did I’ll post it here.
Protein shakes can and are a fantastic way of getting that all important protein quick and easy for you. The thing to keep in mind is don’t replace a healthy meal with just protein shakes. You can get just as much protein from a healthy meal as you can from the protein shake. A normal diet should contain between 15 – 20 % of protein. So if you’re working out and taking a protein shake that’s fine. But if you are trying to lose weight by taking a protein shake without exercising that’s bad. Why is that bad, its bad because the average adult only requires 45 to 60 grams of protein and each gram of protein contributes 4 calories for every gram of protein. So that means if you’re not working out or doing any kind of exercise you will be gaining weight and fast.
If your taking a protein shake to help build muscle the formula that you should go by is this (example if you weigh 175 pounds then take between a 175 to 250 grams of protein a day).If your working out to build muscle.
If your shake is too bland, try adding artificial flavoring such as Vanilla Extract or more artificial sweetener such as Splenda. Peanut butter, as well as fruits (bananas and strawberries) also adds flavor. Throw in some honey for added sweetness. Just keep in mind that by adding these you are adding more calories, Ya that stinks I know.
I hope that helps ya ddchav.

it would be good… your body is still going to be rebuilding your muscles from the workout the night before, and it needs the nutrients to rebuild them… the shake will definately help, if you dont take it, your body will need to get nutrients from somewhere else….
