I am having surgery and are required to limit activity and lift no weight over 5 lbs for at least 6 weeks. How long will it take to lose the definition in my arms that I have worked so hard to maintain by lifting heavy weights?

Your muscles won’t atrophy THAT fast…and besides, muscles have INCREDIBLE memory…so after your healing period, expect to be back where you are now within only about 3 weeks of regular training.
As with a newbie, start out with about 2 pounds and work back up to 5. Don’t start out where you left off..
& you do know you should rest one day between weight-lifting ? Otherwise, you could “rip” a muscle (& I’m not talking about the good kind of rip either!) Just lift your weights every-other day and you’ll be fine.
to maintain the longest possible pump you need to flex for as long as you possibly can between sessions
your metabolism and hormones are what decides. don’t worry because you can get your tone back right when that 6 weeks is over. two months may cause you to lose some but not all of it. i haven’t played soccer in a year and i still have my legs defined but my arms and abs have gotten a little less defined. I don’t work out very much at all(except if you count fighting with my lil bro)
