I’m 15 and constantly hear lifting weights stunts growth. I don’t mind if i don’t grow anymore. I’m 184 cm(i think that translates to 5″11 or 6 feet). Anyway i just want to know if there are any other negative things about lifting weights at my age? Thanks.

i lift weights on a routine and im still growing the only speculation that i hear of is when you go heavy on the squats it can actually crush your discs in your back and the older you get until 18 they will get harder
i think you’re intrested about long term. there aren’t any really. just good side effects.
there are plenty of short term, but i’m sure that you already know about them(over stresing muscles ect..) just at such a young age, you may be a little overconfident. be sure to need to practice restraint and know your limits. having limits dosen’t make you a wimp, it makes you able to come back the next day.
I started lifting when I was 14 and I am 6′3″. Some people recommend u wait until your 14—even that is debated if it is necessary. There are ZERO negative effects from lifting weights for people 14 and older, it increases bone density and aids in weight loss, improves your physique and enhances athletic performance- there are no negatives and anyone who says there are is very poorly informed.
None, just use proper form and spotters when necessary so you don’t injure yourself.
