What Will Be The Best Substitute To Use If You Lift Weights And Don’t Want Your Hands To Feel Hard?

I noticed that lifting weights could make your hands rough and hard. Aside from a wrist protector, what would you recommend as far as budget is concern.. thanks a lot c;

    I always wear gym gloves & never have problems with rough hands
    & I have been weight training for decades
